We loved living in Shelley Idaho for those 5 years,
until my husband was encouraged to take a “Development Assignment” in Utah.
He initially declined....until one day-the spirit prompted a change of heart
& we both knew we needed to head to Provo,
where he would manage 100 employees, instead of 15-much more stressful to say the least!
Shortly after arriving in Provo, we learned that our daughter’s temple marriage
was coming to an end, & what a tender mercy it was, that we could be there for her.
After the 2 year Provo assignment, he applied for a store in Arizona, (where we are from), Idaho (where we’d hoped to return) & Utah positions, none of which worked out.
The Sacramento DI Manager position was then posted.
We were not interested... it was so far from everyone we know!
We began talking about other possibilities, while praying for the right work opportunity,
where the Lord would have us go & serve. Three days later was fast Sunday.
We were re-directed --
and knew, the Lord wanted us to come to California.
Unexpected tender mercies have followed, and we are grateful to be here with you.
“...we can pray to our Heavenly Father & receive guidance & direction,
be warned about dangers & distractions,
& be enabled to accomplish things we simply could not do on our own.
If we will truly receive the Holy Ghost & learn to discern
& understand His promptings,
we will be guided in matters large & small.”

Our April focus is to
“SEEK SPIRITUAL STRENGTH BY FOLLOWING THE PROMPTINGS
OF THE HOLY GHOST.” RS Declaration
On a little magnet board in my home, where I put some things to remember in 2021,
are the words of Elder Uchdorf: “You muster your faith…
and you LISTEN for the GUIDING WORD of the Lord...”
So I’m trying to remember to ask: “What’s next?” I believe that spirit can GUIDE us to a new friend, when other friends are now far away, to know what to pray for a family member or neighbor, or what to eat-
that will improve my health.
On this topic of following promptings, my cousin Mark,
(General Sunday School Pres.),
spoke at a BYU devotional, on my Dad/his Uncle’s birthday. :)

Consider posting your take-away on our RS, or ward facebook group
(Sheldon Ward Community) where we have been encouraged to “post uplifting thoughts.”
It is my prayer that you find some joy in your day,
through recognizing and following a prompting meant just for you.
