Message from President Dexter

I was on a coaching zoom call, on spring cleaning various aspects of our lives,

& a listener chimed in with how she had applied Christ’s atonement

to decluttering her home.  Our mentor responded,

“I’d never thought of applying Christ’s atonement in that way.”

It reminded me of a recent evening prayer,

when a challenge that’s hung over our heads for years, came to mind

and how I’d felt to ask for a  solution.  Had I not thought Christ could assist us in that way, that I worried, and wondered all those years?

What else was I neglecting to ask about…

and receive grace through His atonement!?!  A lesson to me…...

"...to SEEK THIS JESUS

of whom the prophets and apostles have written,

that the GRACE OF GOD the Father,

and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth brecord of them, MAY BE & ABIDE IN YOU..."

Ether 12:41

As we celebrate the beginnings of the Relief Society this month,

let’s focus on this priority from the Relief Society Declaration:

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity, who
INCREASE OUR TESTIMONIES OF JESUS CHRIST
THROUGH PRAYER & SCRIPTURE STUDY"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We can invite Christ’s power into all that we do --if it’s important to us, it’s important to Him! My mom was in charge of a roadshow back in the day! She tells of praying over every aspect from costumes to music, & who to involve.

The roadshow took first place and many additional awards which she credits to God. She taught me to....

"... pray always, and not faint; ...ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord

save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ,

that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee,

that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul."   2 Nephi 32:9

I was out weeding our yard recently, pondering a question I had for Father,

while listening to scriptures, when an answer came into my mind.

The scriptures had created the right space for that inspiration to come.

A monthly focus from the RS Declaration, can help us

 “treasure up in [our] minds continually the words of life" (D&C 84:85)

to the end that we can sanctify [ourselves] that [our] minds become single to God,

and the days will come that [we] shall see him..."

I testify that He is coming & that this is a time of preparation!

As a new presidency, we’ve come together under the Lord’s direction,

from both former ward boundaries, & we are excited to get to know you,

& to serve together, unified in the work of salvation.

May we remember, that the Lord "is able to do all things

according to his will, for the children of men,

if it so be that they exercise faith in him."  (1 Nephi 7:12)

As I give thanks in prayer for His atonement, His spirit fills my heart.

Now, I am waiting on the Lord, watching, and

hoping for the answer to that prayer...
